Projects for 2016

It's December and we want to share our  desired Projects for 2016
By giving this month we can ensure your deductions are available for your 2015 taxes

I've added my cut and paste to help you visualize what and where I am talking about

At the Orphanage:
We'd like to complete the second floor of the team house.
We have long term guest and other missionaries families wanting to live here and help us in the works yet we don't really have a place to put them.  The second floor fills this important need.
Current                                  Phase II

Where our pond was.

Hoping to put a multi court here shaded with two solid walls and chain fence around the sides.
Courts will get used by the the orphanage, school, teams and possibly outside kids too.
We're looking at basketball, tennis, volleyball and wall ball uses as well as other games and hangout area.  The Shade will be key to it's day time use.

For the School:
P.a. - 1.b. Classes completed this year.

A required project for us in 2016.
We must build a minimum of 2 classes for grade 3.a. and grade 12.
We'd like to add 4 classes as we did this year but we'll see where we're at by August.

I will post the estimates for these projects in the "CURRENT NEEDS" tab to the right if your interested in seeing how you can help financially.

I hope to get a post out this month on what was accomplished this year.
If I don't say it later or again or if I forget.  I want to say what an amazing year we've had and what blessings we've encountered.  Thank you so much for being apart of everything.  We could never do what we're doing with out your participation.

I truly, truly hope you're proud and boast loudly in Christ and how God has used you all in such an amazing way this year.   Regardless of what is constructed next year I know it going to be awesome.

Thank you

Some Recent Activities

Our Province police, public affairs group came asking to demonstrate how to cross the street safely.
It was just for show really, a dozen traffic police with cameras and new clean uniforms and attractive young police ladies.   It was fun making friends and to know that we'd been the choice for their program.  They got to tour the school and they were extremely happy in seeing the extra class that teaches kids how to read and write.

We made an effort to get some of the ladies back in the future to talk to our girls about being a female police officer and give them an idea that they to could take on roles other than house wife and factory worker.

Sam and Joe were happy.  Joe's making his sly dog/hubba hubba face.

It's pretty much how we do things daily accept the for the 4 models walking little school girls across individually for the camera.  I wouldn't be surprised if I find a poster somewhere on a wall later.

It drew a lot of attention.  If there was anyone who didn't know there was a school here they do now that's for sure.  I did like the fact that we're building relationships.

Our newest "Hog"
Tommy a missionary who's been working in our area for the past year had to leave quite ill.  I think it was a bad ulcer but have not confirmed that yet.   Anyways helping him with funds got us a 2nd motorcycle.  I'm sure Tommy's got a lot of recovery a head of him if you could keep him in prayer next couple months.

There's always a group of parents hanging out watching the younger classes.

At our second campus our electrician waiting to pick up his some from Kindergarten watches grade 9 play soccer during sports class.

One of my favorite photos.
I call it "Kung Fu"
Everyone's got some sort of thing going on that doesn't include the ball.

 5 o'clock chores

Crops are changing with the seasons.  We're coming up to the end of the rains into our "Winter"

Mamma Gecko is about 12 inches long

Babies girl and boy
There is a sound clip on the Wiki page.  They are very loud.

Adah playing at the school.

Took the kids to the local lake for a bit of fun.  Adah's helping row the boat.

No Sponsors

Hey we've had some new children but we have no sponsors.

If your interested in being directly involved with a child's life, we've these 3 beautiful children.

2 brothers have been with us for 3 months.

Thong - Age:9 Grade:3

Sitha - Age:11 Grade:5

Somnang's been with us a couple weeks

Samnang - Age:8 Grade:2

Contact Mary at

Please keep in mind when praying to support a child that this should be a long term commitment.
Are there forseeable factors that would change your commitment to this child?

It's quite difficult for a child who's lost their parents to also lose a sponsors.
So please spend some time in prayer first.

Thank you all,

Kit

A First

An amazing opportunity for two people and possibly their spouse.

These needs are immediate and we encourage response.

Teacher
Need number 1.

We are looking for a well qualified, well experienced teacher to spend 2 to 4 weeks with us here in Cambodia.

The teacher interested in this trip should have experience in at least one of these grades.

Grade  1
Grade  2
Grade  3

For at least 5 or more years experience as head teacher of their own class in at least one of the grades mentioned above.

In a Christian setting is preferred but not necessary.

Applicant should be willing and able to educate other teachers on how to PLAN, SET UP, and MANAGE their own class room.  Able to spend one on one time holding the "student/teacher's" hand until they have established, transitioned and have become comfortable with their classroom changes.
The goal is to take theses grades (preferably grade 1 first and grade 2 second) and transition them from a formal education, sitting in rows, to working in groups and stations.
From just reading and teaching a lesson to breaking a single lesson into parts and learning that single lesson but in many ways.

The Offer
Besides just the great joy of being apart of something worth doing that will change the lives of everyone you meet.  A Heart For Wisdom is in such need we are offering to pay a portion of your airfare and provide free general onsite lodging.

Spouses are welcome to travel with you.  Lodging and meals will be provide for both persons but the airfare offer is already has a set amount.

Accountant
Need number 2.

We are in a very real need of an accountant or CPA who can help us set up a better system to fit the School and the NGO's needs.  It might be as easy as organizing our chart of accounts.

We would be looking for some one who can account basic items for a:
NGO
Orphanage
School
Book store
Food court

Which might include things like;
Food losses
Coupons
Billing

Showing and sharing all the little tips that might save us time with the 500 kids we bill and how to change those statements and information yearly and they change grade and price.

Not knowing all the little tips is killing us. :(

Tuesday's VBS

Centerpiece

I am writing the last part of this post first because I'm waiting for the other pictures, but also it is the best part of the story.

3 years ago funds we're donated to us for a play area.  It took us 2 years to find time and decide how we'd use those funds.  Last year we decided it would be a pool and barbecue area.

Though our pool sits to the side of the property it has become a centerpiece of our events.
An unintentional perk to having a pool has been having baptisms.

Well we've had our annual visit with Temple Christian College who not only brings great kids who spend quality time with our children they have also always bring tremendous support for the works that go on here.  This year like the last we held a little one day VBS.  Our school is out of session but still we had hundreds of kids show up.

We had kids from 4th and 5th grade who had not been baptized yet so today was the day.

Pastor Mark is in charge of their school's mission program, re-addressed what baptism means and confirmed they were aware of decision they had made before.
 Little prayers

First ones in was our second grade teachers (Sela's) son on the left.  One of our most awesome children Ratha in the middle and Joe my own son.

Some of TCC students who've not been baptized before joined us.

 A little pool time afterwards.

Other parts of the VBS
T-Shirts and Classrooms

We came up with an idea about an empty tree and having the kids put their hands on it for leaves and the team adding their hands as fruit on the tree.  Then we though of making a t-shirt the same but using thumb prints.  So on Monday the day before the VBS half the team spent the day adding their yellow thumb prints to the shirts.
While half the team spent the day painting the empty tree trunks in the classrooms.

It was a long day to say the least.  Some of our kids confirmed they do not want to work in a garment factory.

Team Thumbprints

Team painting the trunks of the trees in the class rooms.

Tuesday
Far more children showing up than we had hoped for.

A little bit of worship from the team and our worship team

Team house in the back right is complete and being used.

Pastor Mark sharing with Tate's translating.

Some sort of Mexican Chicken dance being taught.  By the sounds I heard later later I think was one of the more popular classes.

Class by class the kids got to add their thumbprints to their shirts.

A finished, personalized t-shirts

Coloring pages and adding their hand print to the wall of what will be their class come October.

 Finished murals
The idea here is that the classes each year will add their print as will our coming guest and over time our tree will fill out, "in theory".

There was also a lot of yard games, more music, soccer and volleyball going on.
With the kids going home after the baptism with a juice and a snack.

Ream and I spent the rest of the day on the couch.
