We recently hosted "Youth Ambassadors" from Hope Global
This was a small group of young ladies who spent 2 days and an evening with us. They spent their time empowering, education, and encouraging our young ladies.
So we had a campout here with 10 of my high school girls at AGHO and 20 or so high school girls from AHFW school. They spent that time in class, in activities, in worship and in prayer. The girls were so thankful for this time and desire more.
A little about the program that took place is shared here below from Courtney Smith.
Weekend of Women's Empowerment
"What does it mean to have a godly husband?"
"How can I show the love of Jesus to my friends."
"What do I need to do to keep my body healthy?"
These are a few examples of the 50 plus questions we answered with the help of HOPE Global Australia during our Women's Empowerment Weekend. A Heart for Wisdom School hosted all of the 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students for a weekend sleepover to address women's issues. The girls attended a series of four workshops focused on issues like value, dignity, career goals, education, sanitation, and reproductive education. After each session our students were encouraged to submit anonymous questions to the Hope Global leaders and ambassadors about any questions they had about the topic of each question. We were all amazed by the abundance of questions and participation. Each session generated 20 plus questions ranging from questions about God to higher education to healthy relationships.
One of the most exciting sessions was a partnership between HOPE global and Days for Girls. This session was focused on educating our students on healthy menstruation and women's health. Each girl was thrilled to receive their, “monthly packs,” which include sustainable and reusable solutions to women's health. These packs are reusable and last for 2-3 years with no cost to maintain them. The students were thrilled to have an affordable solution to menstruation that does not force them to stay home from school. If you would like to know more about Days for Girls
