Our time in the USA

Last months been busy for us as we spent a month in the USA.
We got to spend time with my family and in-laws.  We got to drive and see my sister in Las Vegas.  We got to see the Hover Dam and drive through Arizona again to pick up my grandmother.  We were closer to the Grand Canyon than I've been before but still haven't seen it.

We spent a lot of time in our home town of Fallbrook with some wonderful host, meeting with great people.
I actually think I got to know the people better in our church this time than I have in the past so that was real pleasant for me.

I had a birthday party and was ordained , Ream and Adah had a baby shower and Adah and Joe where dedicated to the Lord.  We hunted for gems, and got to go to the zoo and Disneyland, the kids got to pan for gold and go to Mulligans miniature golf.  We ate at Rain Forest cafe with the kids and got to meet up with some old friends, friends from Cambodia and make some new friends.

We spoke and we shared, we were blessed with lunches and dinners.  Gift were given and blessings received.  We absolutely love our church.

Again we'd like to thank our pastor for all he's done for us recently and in the past.
We'd like to thank the people who've supported us over the years and those who've just started to support us.
We'd like to again thank all who invited us over to their house.

We really do hope to make it back a little sooner next time.

Lastly I would like to share a quote from Joe.
Our first Sunday back at the Fallbrook church this was Joe's first American service.  Joe was looking sad almost ready to cry and I thought he and Sam were already fighting.  I asked Joe what was wrong; why are you crying?

Joe's reply was,  "I am so proud to be here right, the music is so beautiful".

Savoeun Toit

Born October 12 1993

Accepted into our care October 29 2008

This October we will have had the pleasure of knowing and caring for Savoen for 5 years.
She is 19 and this month she will be the first in her family to finish High School and attend a college.

She has a beautiful spirit, she's kind and smart.  She's soft spoken, gentle, loving and attractive.
She is much of what a woman should be.
She is a Christian and she is my very good friend.
She's been my daughter.

As Savoeun heads to college she currently desires to be a translator and translate for the South East Asian conferences.
I hope she'll come back and work with us. ;)

Savoeu has been taking her end of the year test and has told us out of all the 12 grade classes she has first on all her test so far and has one left to study for.  She is excellent in Khmer and writing and it was suggested earlier from the teachers that she should go to a national competition.  The principal has even come to my school to show off the work she has done; he is very proud of her too.

It will be sad to have her leave us but very happy for her and what she has over come in life and is about to accomplish.

Please pray for her final test to go well.
