A New Tab on the Left

The first ever Carson Family Support Tab is on the left.

As the projects here become self sufficient we are making a small effort to become so as well.

For the past 9 years we've been considered staff at our church and have had nothing to worry about. What a tremendous blessing it is to have been given such a wonderful gift.  I know so many missionaries would be jealous of such SOLID support as we've had.

As our kids get older Ream I feel the need to start reaching out for support that will help us cover need that are looming ahead.  Things like college or just getting old.

Our hopes is to just be there for little extras donors might have and not to have someone making a choice of support us or the projects.  Please projects first.

Keeping this the first and last post on the new tab short, if your interested the tab on the left will always be there, barring we don't have some unknown rich uncle leave us everything. ;)

Thank you for helping us continue this journey.

Big Road Brings Bad News

This is the rumor that has surfaced this past week.

The Asian Highway #11 is coming through our village.
We've known this for quite some time how ever this past week it was announced that construction would start very soon, though a time was not yet given.

It was announced that the road would measure 35 meters from the center of the current road.

This would cut the church in half and we would also loose half the school property and a couple class rooms.

I do think that this news inaccurate.  I don't believe the it is from center, but rather the total width of the road would be 35 meters.  Because for me a 70 meter road is pretty near unheard of.
Also the recent electric poll placement does suggest the total road width would be 35 meters.

35 meters total or 70 meters total.

Either way the school is going to loose.  We will lose the new office and 50 to 100% of the play area depending.  We are doing what we can at the moment to find out the actual true width of the road.

Arial view of the school with red line being proposed road boundary.

The good news is that we've already poured the pads for 4 units at our new property and in someway are prepared for this to happen.  Got to praise God for taking care of His works a head of time.

The challenging news will come when we are hit with time frames of the road being built.
We can not afford to transfer and build everything at once so we need time.

The bad news is we only have to move the school, no body lives there. but all the families along the road are going to lose everything.
A lot of Ream's families are included in this, I can think of 6 family members that will lose their home at the moment.

We are really praying that the road is less wide than what local leaders are saying.

Something Pretty Cool

In updating somethings on the Blog today I noticed something pretty cool.
Google Maps has updated our area which had to have been a couple months ago.
It shows the team house being built in the driveway and our pool and filled in pond area.

You can always scroll down to the bottom of our blog and find a link to the map of our area.  You can see the school and the house here also explore the area a little if you wish.

Here's a photo if Google Maps doesn't work for you.

This past week we hosted our first annual Teacher Conference.

The teachers came from Australia they are all full time teachers that volunteers for HOPE: Global.  on their holiday.  A really great and mos helpful team.  The conference we all felt was a success.  We hosted 63 teachers from our school and surrounding schools.  They ran 3 classes for 3 days, IT, elementary and high school that covered many subjects.   There was also a little extra session on makeup for the ladies.

Please click on the link below to follow the events for the week.

New Ground

A Heart for Wisdom school broke ground on a second campus today.  This campus will be a second temporary campus.  It's not something we planned, but it's certainly something we not only see that we need, but we can also see God providing proper steps for the future.

This is a top view of a long term plan.

This would be North and the front entrance.
Close up of the bottom left corner.
We broke ground today units 3A, 3B, 4, and the blank room
We will be laying the pad for in a week or so.
For units P, K, 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B we have applied for a Japaneses school grant.  We hope to build these out of brick with a more permanent purpose and with the hopes of one day adding a second story if funds are approved.

This new property butts up next to the orphanage so the multi court to the bottom right would be available to both the school and the orphanage.  I know one person will be especially excited to hear our kids may soon be playing tennis.
